Course information

Registrations for this course are closed.

Created for 12-17 year olds who want to try sailing in a non-competitive, social and fun setting. OutThere Sailing is the perfect way to have fun on the water without any long term commitment.

The course runs on Sunday mornings in parallel with our Tackers classes from 8:30am until 11:00am. Course cost $300 for the 8 Sundays. The youth sail in boats with UN-structured learning with qualified Australian Sailing Instructors & Assistant Instructors - all equipment provided and no sailing experience needed.

Sailing is a sport that is accessible for everybody, all equipment is provided so all you need to do is show up and have a good time! We utilise a wide variety of activities within the program that may include Dinghies, Stand Up Paddle Boards,  and Powerboat adventures; All OutThere Sailing programs are delivered by qualified Australian Sailing Instructors.

OutThere Sailing provides a social environment where teenagers are able to cultivate real friendships with others from their local area, whilst potentially igniting a love for sailing in the process. Socialisation and fun both on and off the water are paramount; club culture is inclusive of everyone and there is plenty for parents and teenagers to get involved with.

Youth participants should wear clothes and shoes that can get wet and bring a dry set to change into after the class. Bring a hat and towel and make sure they have on plenty of sunscreen because the sun can be quite harsh on the water. A packed morning tea and water bottle is also essential. The club provides lifejackets and all boats and equipment for the classes.

The OutThere Programme is offered by Humpybong Yacht Club as an OutThere Sailing Centre serving the northern suburbs of Brisbane and the Redcliffe area.
